- Be aware of your belongings.
- Never walk alone at night, whether male or female.
- Never bring anyone you just met back to your accommodation. If your roommate brings home an unknown guest, watch or lock up any valuables that you might have with you.
- Be aware of pickpockets in touristy places.
- Be concerned with what people might be taking from you, but also what they might be giving you!
- Learn about the local laws of your host country and the countries you plan to visit.
