Australia Is Still Attracting Skilled Migrants

Even as other developed countries are tightening their doors to skilled migrants, Australia has set aside at least 128,000 places in the current year, with 17,300 places for skilled nurses.

According to SBS on 16 October 2018, Australia has a massive skill shortage, particularly in rural and regional areas. It is likely that permanent residency application may stand a better chance if the applicant opt away from big cities such as Melbourne and Sydney.

The top six vocation that can gain permanent residency are electricians, secondary school teachers, carpenters and joiners, metal fitters and machinists and motor mechanics.

Although the minimum point score on points test for IT professionals and accountants have climbed to 75, Australia is still open to skilled migrants who bring the in-demand skills to meet the needs of her economy.
