Things To Do In Sydney During Your University Break

After a long term of study, the uni break is nearly here! So what are you going to do with this well-deserved time off?

To help you decide, we’ve compiled the ultimate list of things to do in Sydney over the holidays:

  • Go sight-seeing
Sydney is home to some of the world’s most iconic landmarks, such as the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, St Mary’s Cathedral and Sydney Tower Eye (just to name a few!).
  • Get back to nature
One of the better-known parks is the Sydney Harbour National Park that weaves along the coast of Sydney Harbour and gives you a glimpse into Sydney’s past through the colonial buildings and old military posts that scatter the area. Other must-visit parks include the Royal Botanic Gardens,
  • Visit a local museum
Just because the semester is over, doesn’t mean you should stop learning and with so many world-famous art galleries and museums like the National Maritime Museum, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia at your doorstep, your thirst for knowledge is sure to be fulfilled.
  • Take a ferry to the zoo
Get up close and see some of the native animals to Australia such as kangaroos, koalas and platypuses, as well as other international furry creatures at the world famous Taronga Zoo.
  • Enjoy a night at the theatre
When you first think of the Sydney Opera House you may just assume that it only hosts ballet and Phantom of the Opera, but there are a lot more student-friendly (and budget-friendly) things to see like comedy acts and thought-provoking talks at the Playhouse building.
